Creating a Sacred Space to Write: The Essential Guide
Writing isn’t just about the words you put down on paper; it’s about the environment, mindset, and energy you bring.
As I prepare to dive into the Ship 30 for 30 October cohort, led by the remarkably talented Nicolas Cole and Dickie Bush, I’ve realized the need to craft a truly sacred space for writing. After this, I’ll enter O.G. Tim Denning’s The Write 4/28 Challenge November cohort. Both challenges underscore the need for dedication, focus, and ambiance.
During an intense copywriting challenge with Tina Lorenz, I confronted a harsh truth: my current space and routine weren’t fostering deep concentration.
So, I embarked on a journey to redefine my writing environment. If you’re looking to optimize your writing sanctuary, here are my recommendations:
1. Physical Space:
Comfortable Seating: Whether an ergonomic chair or a plush couch, ensure your seating keeps you comfortable but alert.
Clutter-Free Desk: A clean space equates to a clear mind. Keep only the essentials on your desk to minimize distractions.
Inspiring Decor: Surround yourself with inspiring designs and mementos that inspire creativity.
