In a world filled with push notifications, endless to-do lists, and the chaotic symphony of modern life, finding focus can seem like chasing a mirage.

As someone who tends to be distractable, compounded by a mosaic of interests, hobbies, courses, social obligations, and ever-looming productivity timelines, I’ve often felt like a ship tossed in a turbulent sea, directionless.

Enter the “Deep Work” concept, a beacon of hope amid this storm.

So, What is ‘Deep Work’?

Coined and revolutionized by Cal Newport in his book, Deep Work refers to the ability to focus without distraction on a cognitively demanding task. It’s a state of flow where you produce your best work in shorter periods.

Why Deep Work Matters to Me (and Perhaps You)

For a distractable human like myself, the very essence of Deep Work is like the North Star — constant, guiding, and unswerving. It’s not about working hard but working purposefully, filtering out the noise, and channeling our passions into structured concentrated bursts.
