Enthusiasm is the Magical Component of Effective Leadership

Enthusiasm. The word literally means “the god within,” from the Greek term: entheos.

There’s something special inside each of us that cannot be stopped or contained. There is no way to escape the effects of that inner light when we let it shine.

I’ve been thinking about this word lately. Enthusiasm. When I have a passion for something, I will be unstoppable. There is no other way. And this is true for all of us.

When I find that I am wandering — as we do, it’s 100% due to a lack of interest. In other words, no enthusiasm.

This is a problem for me.

Then I thought of this word and how it is a key component in every success I have ever achieved. And to that point, every failure was brewed with unenthusiasm–on my part.

The truth is, I am approaching something in my life that has all the signs of being a total thumbs-down bomb, in part because I lack a level of enthusiasm I have for it. Especially in comparison to past successes that I have achieved.

Here’s the reality. I can’t ethically lead the charge without enthusiasm. And I feel so incredibly sad that I came to this determination as I was…
