How I Mastered Marketing While Navigating ADHD and Dyslexia
Discovering My Mission: Focus
Marketing is fun for me— staying on top of trends, watching platforms shift, and making creativity a daily requirement. For someone like me, diagnosed with ADHD and Dyslexia as an adult, it can get overwhelming. But instead, it became the backdrop for my most important mission: focus. I’ve spent years learning not just how to focus, but when, where, and why to direct it.
Turning Challenges Into Strengths
ADHD and Dyslexia are often portrayed as barriers, but I’ve learned they come with hidden advantages when paired with the right strategies. My ADHD brings a flood of ideas and energy, while my Dyslexia demands creative problem-solving and alternative approaches to communication. These traits have fueled my marketing career, making me a better content creator, designer, and copywriter.
But the journey hasn’t been easy. ADHD can make it hard to stick to a task, while Dyslexia can complicate written communication (although writing, spelling, grammar, et al have always been my superpower… go figure). Early in my career, these challenges felt insurmountable — until I discovered the power of systems.
