While journaling has many benefits, its mental health aspect is definitely worth considering if you’re thinking about making it part of your daily routine.

Journaling is therapeutic

For many people, journaling is a way to process thoughts and emotions that might otherwise feel overwhelming. It can be therapeutic to write about what is going on in your life, and it can also help you to gain clarity and perspective.

Even if you don’t feel like you have anything important to say, simply writing out your stream of consciousness can be helpful. There really are no guidelines on how to start journaling — you can write as little or as much as you want, and you can structure your entries however you like.

Some people prefer to write in long paragraphs, while others prefer to make lists or use bullet points. There is no right or wrong way to do it. The most important thing is that journaling is a tool that can help you to cope with difficult times in your life.

Journaling is self-care

We all have a lot going on in our minds. Whether we’re worried about an upcoming deadline at work, or trying to remember to pick up something on the way home, our thoughts can feel like they’re running wild.
